Another Stretch Goal Reached!
almost 4 years ago – Sat, May 02, 2020 at 10:47:03 PM

Hi everyone!

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the third stretch goal has been unlocked! Thank you all for helping to make that happen!  This means the deck is now 81 cards! Though the number seems a bit uneven, it actually adds to 9 which is a number of completion. It is also a number that represents wisdom and the desire to serve humanity.

And, since a few have been asking, I just want to let everyone know that the stretch goals affect every reward. So, no matter what reward a person selects, the stretch goals will impact them. Even the reward that comes with a digital manual instead of a book will still have the magnetic enclosure box and the same cards as every other reward.

I decided to make the 81rst card one of Secret Societies. This can include Knights Templars, Rosicrucians, or those who were in a society that was forced underground or was hiding its activities.  I've already designed a card. I just need to pick a color theme. I'm leaning toward the pink one.

I've also had the cards professionally edited for typos (there were 4) and my editor told me she will start working on the manual next week.

I hope that everyone stays safe and enjoys the weekend <3

Much regard and appreciation,

Mandy

Adding a New Stretch Goal?
about 4 years ago – Sat, Apr 25, 2020 at 02:18:34 AM

Hi everyone!

When I launched this Kickstarter, I never expected to receive the amount of backing and support that I have. So, I only had two stretch goals. It has come to my attention that I might want to offer additional stretch goals since those two goals have been surpassed. However, I don't want to come across the wrong way by simply add new ones out of the blue, so I wanted to send an update first before doing so. I was thinking of offering the below:

  • I will add a bonus card to the deck if the campaign reaches $25,000 (making the deck 81 cards).
  • If the campaign reaches 35,000, a second bonus card will be added (making 82 cards).
  • If the campaign reaches  $45,000, I will add a reading cloth.

As for how production is progressing, I spent the week editing cards, adjusting the fonts, and ordering proofs to check for how they would print. I also submitted the images of the cards to an editor to check for typos.  The manual has also been sent to an editor to undergo the first round of edits.  So things are moving along!

Thanks again for everyone's support in bringing this deck to life! I feel truly honored and blessed!  I hope everyone enjoys an amazing weekend and stays happy, healthy, and safe!

Kind regards and much appreciation,  Mandy

Second Stretch Goal Unlocked!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Apr 19, 2020 at 01:34:25 PM

Hi Everyone!

We've reached funding of 15,000, so the second stretch goal has been unlocked of 400 gsm card stock instead of 350! So thanks for everyone's support to reach this goal! If everyone prefers 350, however, let me know (such as in terms of shuffling or preference). I figure it is a circle deck so it won't shuffle like a regular rectangular deck and 400 gsm will add a little more sturdiness to the cards. But let me know your thoughts. I will go with whatever the majority consensus is.

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback to help selects the font style. I'm going to do a normal run of the Daniel font and a short run of the Ink Free Font (the mediumish one on the earlier update).  Here they are on different cards so you can see which one you like best. I will have a survey close to fulfilling orders where people can select the deck style they prefer.  Daniel is on the left and Ink Free is on the right.

Since it's basically a whole new print run, I can also try a different colored edging too (not sure I'm using the right word but this is the color on the sides of the card, not on the card)).  I could have matte purple on one and gold or silver matte on the other (circle cards can only be a matte edging).  But I'm not sure how backers would feel about this. So let me know. I was thinking the Daniel Font would go well with purple since it's a little wilder and the Ink Free would go well with gold or silver??

Next week I will send the cards in a file to a professional editor to check for typos. The manual is already in the process of being edited and I will work on the box design and submit it for editing as well.

Much thanks and gratitude to everyone, and I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and stays safe and well <3

What Font to Choose?
about 4 years ago – Fri, Apr 17, 2020 at 12:29:50 AM

Dear Backers,

I hope you all are enjoying your week!

It has come to my attention that the newer font might not be as easy to read. So I wanted to ask everyone's opinion about what they preferred. So in the image below, I have the newer font on the left (Daniel) and the Old font on the right (Aller Light).   I also might be able to print both versions and can offer a survey when the campaign ends so people can select a version.

Thanks again for all of your amazing support! We are closer to unlocking the stretch goal for 400 gsm card stock (if this is something everyone desires) <3

Kind Regards, Mandy

Someone suggested a font that might be a medium between the two. The best I could find is the one below. Most fonts that I have are either script or pretty plain.

I still am in love with the Daniel font so I have to print a few copies with it LOL. So for those who love it, don't worry, it will still be available.

Its been an amazing first day!
about 4 years ago – Wed, Apr 15, 2020 at 09:29:28 PM

Thank you to everyone who has backed this Kickstarter within its first 24 hours. I feel absolutely amazed, honored, and blessed that this project is so supported. I never expected it to reach its goal in such a short amount of time!

I've been speaking with the printer for the last few hours and we are set to start printing around May 10 and production will take 25 to 30 days.  This is an estimate, as sometimes there are delays or the need for adjustments.

For the edging on the card, I thought to make it the same purple color that is on the back of the deck. I felt a matte purple went well with the idea of past lives as opposed to rose gold or pink. The other option was matte gold.  Feel free to post your thoughts, however.

I will also continue to update the remaining 30 cards (of 80) to the watercolor style. Then I will have an editor go over them for typos. I am also having the manual proof-read.   My hope is that once the campaign is over, printing can begin!

I hope everyone on my side of the world has an amazing evening, and on the other side of the world that you have an amazing day!  And I hope everyone stays healthy and safe during these unusual and challenging times.

Much regard and appreciation,  Mandy
